"Those who do not know the plans of competitors cannot prepare alliances. Those who do not know the lay of the land cannot manoeuvre their forces. Those who do not use local guides cannot take advantage of the ground."  Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Drury specialises in strategic public affairs campaigns – providing insight into the policy and legislative making process, creating high-level connections for our clients and bringing influence to bear on key decision makers in national and local Government as well as the regulatory and state agency networks.  We advise, design and implement programmes that can achieve successful outcomes for clients and which enhance their relations with government and the political system.

"I’ve come to the conclusion that politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians."  Charles de Gaulle

Political decision-making has always been a balancing act between an array of competing voices scrambling for attention and driving conflicting agendas. Pressure groups, individual citizens, academics, advocacy groups and media all play their part in creating and shaping political viewpoints.  Our knowledge and understanding of the political system and decision-making apparatus within Government as well as the landscape that surrounds such decisions, enables us to guide clients towards strategic solutions.

"Okay, you've convinced me. Now go out there and bring pressure on me."   President Franklin D. Roosevelt (in response to a business delegation)

Our services include PA strategising, advocacy and lobbying, campaign design and coalition building, political event management and stakeholder relations.

We provided comprehensive public affairs support to Aer Lingus during a period of intense media scrutiny and political focus – from the company’s flotation on the Stock Exchange in 2006, to the decision to withdraw the Shannon-Heathrow route in August 2007 and the defence against two Ryanair take-over bids.

We work with CRH plc, Ireland’s largest publicly listed company, across a wide range of political and stakeholder engagement programmes including most recently, a major expansion project to build a new cement kiln at its Platin Cement Works in Co Louth.

Our public affairs clients currently include Cahill May Roberts; CRH plc; Hewlett Packard; The National Lottery; Paddy Power plc; TV3, Biomnis Ireland .
