Financial PR: Aer Lingus
Aer Lingus has been putting planes in the sky above Ireland and beyond since 1936, and Drury have worked with the national flagship air carrier since 2001. From public flotation to the launch of new airline routes and the robust defense of the company against hostile take-over bids, Drury has supported and advised Aer Lingus through a momentous time for the airline sector as a whole.
Our work with Aer Lingus spans financial PR, corporate reputation communications, crisis and issue management, industrial relations, stakeholder engagement and public affairs.
Advising on the company’s transition from public to private company, with its successful flotation on the Dublin and London Stock Exchanges in 2006, we worked closely with senior management focussing on communicating the company’s potential platform for growth and the strategic intentions of the flotation. In line with their obligations as a publicly quoted company, we have since worked with them on the range of financial calendar announcements and updates to market.
Drury has played a central role in Aer Lingus’s defence actions against two high-profile hostile takeover bids from Ryanair in 2006 and late 2008, highlighting the merits of Aer Lingus retaining its position as an independent airline, both for the consumer and to maintain a healthy competitive landscape in the Irish aviation market.
